Regional Advisory Council News Release (PDF)	Three Pike residents on a regional advisory council to improve opportunities for minorities. The civil rights enforcement agency in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is the Pennsylvania Human Relations Commission (PHRC). They formed the Monroe County Advisory Council to better serve the Pocono Region and to assist them in ascertaining and improving opportunities in employment, housing, public accommodations and education. The Monroe County Advisory Council consists of 16 members throughout Monroe and 3 members from Pike.
Davis-Bailey Family Exhibit	The Pike County Historical Society's Columns Museum has a permanent exhibit that focuses on the African American family of Abraham and Sarah Davis. Abraham is believed to have served in the 5th Regiment, 204th Volunteer Artillery in the Civil War. He married Sarah Johnson and purchased the family home in Milford. Abraham’s descendent Milton Bailey was tragically the only man from Pike County to be killed in the Korean War. Meetings are on the second Wednesday of the month at 6:00 P.M. in the Dingman Township Branch of the Pike County Public Library on Log Tavern Road near Route 739. Note: TSUC is not affiliated with the library.

Formally the Pike County Americans with Disabilities Advocacy (ADA) Committee. Affiliated with the NE PA Center for Independent Living (Scranton, PA). Meeting days and times vary. See here more information.
